Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406-bed facility located in sunny, southwestern Arizona. We have a main hospital campus, off-site cancer center, outpatient laboratory services, and numerous clinics as a part of our medical group, including a primary care facility in the Foothills – 41 locations in total.

Relocation assistance funds will be offered to candidates not in the Yuma, AZ area. 

Summary:

As a Corporate Wellness Coach for YRMC you will work with internal staff to promote the growth of employee worksite wellness programs You will develop health and wellness events for Health Workforce and Fit for Life participants, helping to ensure our team members are mentally and physically healthy for work.

The Wellness Coach Role:

Supports the development and growth of the wellness programs in the Yuma community, to include the worksite wellness programs through Healthy Workforce and YRMC’s internal wellness program, Fit for Life, through the development and facilitation of health-related wellness training and sales seminars.

Compiles statistics and designs presentations. 

Facilitates, attends and actively participates as appropriate in all meetings and subgroups. 

Ensures that reports, studies, and other materials are prepared; Markets and delivers wellness program in collaboration with the hospital’s affiliates. 

Demonstrates strong public speaking skills while presenting wellness training and sales seminars; Designs and collaborates with YRMC departments, local community organizations and healthcare providers to develop community wellness education classes and programs.

Independently performs complex program development and implementation based on a comprehensive knowledge of the health promotion and education field; Plans, develops, coordinates and participates in various marketing research activities to identify community and patient preferences and attitudes. 

Develops health/wellness interventions for Healthy Workforce and Fit for Life participants; Contacts participants who are eligible for the program for enrollment and provides necessary wellness coaching to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors.

Plans and organizes various hospital activities and public relations events to promote wellness services and increase public awareness; Facilitates wellness screenings within agenda and time guidelines; Ensures equipment and supplies are available and in good working order; Maintains knowledge of orientation agenda and changes that occur with the program over time; Organizes and maintains all files and records accurately, handles confidential information and/or compiles statistics utilizing analytical data. 

Promotes, develops and grows worksite wellness programs within Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC); Utilizes proprietary and external data to identify community health trends to maximize the effectiveness of wellness program interventions; research targeted markets and evaluate, and design promotion and intervention strategies; Coordinates the design of wellness promotional items to assist with preparing marketing materials and articles; develop, write, edit and layout wellness marketing materials and publications.

Collaborates with YRMC’s wellness taskforce, to identify, develop and implement wellness related programming, interventions and educational events; Coordinates of wellness programming, such as fitness events or challenges, is included. 

Remains current with trends and mandates affecting worksite wellness programs; Manages biometric screening, Health Risk Appraisal (HRA), health education and wellness coaching protocols; Manages health education programming and fulfilling participant commitments. 

Plan and organize various hospital activities and public relations events to promote wellness services and increase public awareness; ability to prepare and deliver presentations to promote the goals, values and mission, and services of the hospital. 

Coordinates wellness programming and develops health/wellness interventions; Conducts various wellness and health risk assessment functions including blood pressure and heart rate measurements, body composition and BMI screenings, screening cholesterol and glucose levels, and post-screening consultations. 

Maintains budgetary expenses including purchasing supplies, equipment and capital items for department and processing check requests for reimbursements accurately and timely; Maintains adequate level of supplies in a cost-effective manner. 

Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two (2) or more years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Education or a related field
