The Good Life Wellness Coordinator and Coach
Location: Saddleback Medical Center, Laguna Hills, CA

The Wellness Coordinator and Coach for our employee wellness program, The Good Life, leads wellness programming to enhance well-being in alignment with organizational strategic objectives such as employee engagement, recruitment, and retention. The wellness coordinator and coach is responsible for promotion, implementation, and administering the campus specific program at Saddleback Medical Center including all aspects of The Good Life Wellness program such as wellness challenges and campaigns, health fairs, lunch and learns, and managing fitness facility access and offerings. In the coach role, you’ll support employees enrolled in MemorialCare’s onsite coaching program called The Good Life-In Balance. Employees volunteer to participate in this program that is designed to empower them to manage their diabetes, pre-diabetes, weight, or stress. You’ll engage in a collaborative process with employees using evidence-based coaching techniques, facilitating a discovery process that may include addressing ambivalence toward behavior change, aligning lifestyle behaviors with employee personal wellness goals, fostering responsibility for self-care, and designing a realistic action plan to increase likelihood of positive health outcomes.
Experience:
- Must have at least three years related experience in corporate wellness, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Must have experience coaching individual clients for a minimum of two years.
- Expertise in the principles and practices of health promotion, employee wellness programming, and behavior change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exhibits strong project management skills, specifically the ability to manage time effectively to support multiple assignments, shift priorities in accordance with need and work both independently and within teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Nutrition, or related field required.
- Wellness Coach Certification from WellCoaches. Other credentialed certification programs will be considered.
- CPR/AED certification required
- Fitness certification from nationally recognized organization such as ACSM, NASM, NSCA or ACE preferred.
