POSITION SUMMARY

Supports 17 member colleges in fostering a culture of well-being by assisting with the creation and execution of employee surveys and the development of responsive programming. Requires up to 10% travel to accomplish duties. Performs duties in teams and self-directed settings. Success is dependent on fostering communication with and among multiple campuses and assisting with the development of effective health/well-being programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identifies vendors that offer programming as required by member colleges and assists the Executive Director in contracting with approved vendors.
  • Acts as the primary interface with the Consortium’s well-being vendors. Specifies required vendor services. Identifies and informs vendors of service shortfalls. Signs off on corrective actions taken by vendors to address service shortfalls.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and member colleges regarding well-being grants and funding.
  • Reports to the Board on well-being metrics, programming effectiveness and other topics, as requested.
  • Conducts quarterly teleconferences with each campus.
  • Travels to colleges, as appropriate, to participate in wellness committee meetings during which planning, implementing, administering, measuring, and evaluating well-being programming is undertaken.
  • Conducts “after-action reviews” for colleges hosting biometric screening events, upon request.
  • Conducts annual, Consortium-wide meetings with campus well-being leaders to educate and share best practices.
  • Sources public-health education materials for member colleges, as requested.
  • Promotes only evidence-based, clinically proven, well-being strategies.
  • Ensures that each member college distributes required notices to its eligible population on a timely basis, meeting all federal guidelines.

FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Consortium assets are for the exclusive benefit of plan participants. Misuse of Consortium assets, including its computer assets, is prohibited and may subject the incumbent to disciplinary action including termination of employment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains an expert understanding of the Consortium’s program of benefits.
  • Maintains a strong awareness of the political, social, and fiscal environment for health and welfare plan operations.
  • Maintains Consortium files, including electronic files, in a secure and orderly manner and in compliance with the Consortium’s Security Policy.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the Executive Director, including those that may involve interactions with other CICV employees.
  • Maintains an awareness of health-promotion industry trends by attending an industry conference, annually.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Academic courses or equivalent work experience in health promotion.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related position.

Preferred:

  • Master of Public Health
  • Certified Health Education Specialist
  • Certified Intrinsic Coach

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Very skilled with Microsoft Office software.
  • High standards of quality, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for note taking, report writing, and presentations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to travel independently to member college campuses, vendor businesses or seminars; including overnight travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment. Functions are often performed sitting and require repetitive motion (keyboarding). Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Ability to push and pull, bend and stoop, and reach overhead are required. Ability to work on one’s feet for extended periods of time. Ability to flex hours and travel to offsite work locations. Ability to infrequently lift up to 35 pounds.
