General Summary
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Review, and make recommendations for the design of programs, policies and practices that support and move forward the global well-being strategy, including disability management (e.g., employee stay at work options to be physically present and productive utilizing our portfolio of health improvements).

Develop, implement and manage well-being programs that meet the life style risk profiles of Unum employees. Lifestyle risk profiles range from healthy to managing chronic conditions

Establish and maintain the linkages between all of the health related partners and programs that support global well-being and health and ensure the they align with goals and objectives of Well being Strategy

Function as a liaison between appropriate entities including the legal department for information exchanges Workers compensation vendor and Unum

Design and maintain program evaluation procedures to determine quality and impact of well-being programs including stay at work and return to work. This includes consulting with RTW Teams, and Benefit Ops Services, Risk Mgmt, Safety and Managers and Employees to facilitate timely return by employees to full productivity.

Regularly analyze data, conduct research and monitor government regulations, market changes, competitor’s offerings and the effect on the programs offered by Unum. Make recommendations to stay aligned with both market dynamics and regulatory requirements

Develop, implement and maintain a continuous educational/communication strategy to create awareness and opportunities for employees to manage their wellbeing. This is done in partnership with HR Communication team and Corporate Communications as well as leveraging the resources of partners.

Monitor and measure the effectiveness of programs to determine change needed in design, education or continuation of programs based on employee feedback and alignment with business and financial objectives.
Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree required, in Health Management or Health Policy preferred
-
Minimum 5 years experience in designing and managing health programs in a corporate setting or professional work experience in a discipline related to disability management interventions

Demonstrated ability to impact change

Excellent written and verbal skill including persuasion and negotiation skills

Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of health care program design and the linkage between health and wellbeing programs

Proven ability to develop and maintain strong credibility and effective working relationships with internal and external constituencies

Demonstrated strong analytical skills including an ability to produce credible reports and documents including activities and outcomes to identify trends

Creative problem solving skills

Ability to be both strategic and tactical

Comfortable in relatively ambiguous work situations and structures
