HR Benefits and Wellness Assistant (Part-Time)
Job Objectives:
Under general supervision of the Vice President, Human Resources, the Benefits Assistant assists the Assistant VP, Employee Benefits & Wellness Initiatives in the accurate and timely processing and administration of all employee insurance programs while also having responsibilities in support of the jHealth program and other HR functions and objectives. This position is four days a week for a total of thirty hours weekly (eligible for benefits).
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists the Assistant VP, Employee Benefits & Wellness Initiatives in the accurate and timely processing and administration of all insurance programs. Runs monthly benefits reports and completes spreadsheets based on enrollment data. Acts as back-up to the Benefits Associate regarding enrollments/changes/terminations for new, current, terminated, and retired staff.
- Assists the Assistant VP, Employee Benefits & Wellness Initiatives with the coordination, setup and administration of the jHealth wellness program: identifies and contacts potential speakers for jHealth classes; schedules jHealth classes; compiles the jHealth catalogue; identifies and schedules vendors for the annual jHealth health fairs; confirms vendors and set-up for health fairs; attends health fairs and attends to day-of needs; sends out monthly health links; and performs other tasks related to the jHealth program.
- Assists in clarifying and communicating benefits policies and procedures to staff including assisting in the timely preparation of brochures, benefits information and literature for distribution to employees in preparing and coordinating open enrollment for agencies and staff and updating UltiPro.
- Reviews bills and statements from health providers and carriers and reconciles and verifies reports for all health benefits program and other reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides backup support for any member of the HR Staff as needed.
- Directly supports JUF campaign integration on an ongoing basis in addition to mandatory campaign related activities.
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- B.A. from an accredited institution required, concentration in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field desired
- 1-3 years benefits administration experience
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite Products
- Knowledge of UltiPro HRIS, Cognos Tools and databases preferred
- PHR certification a plus
