Human Resources Program Coordinator (Health and Wellness Coordinator)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of three to five years of professional experience in the health sciences, healthcare research, personal fitness/training, or wellness field, to include experience in activity planning,event planning, coordination of large scale events,and program evaluation are required. Health Coach Certification is highly preferred.
The Wellness Program Manager manages a multi-tiered support system following a strategic and unique wellness program model. Is responsible for maintaining performance metrics by collecting and verifying personnel data including but not limited to health coaching caseloads, referrals, treatment programs, workshop attendance and participation. Coordinates proper licensing, staffing and operational needs to effectively manage and expand programming. Manages current and forecasted projects by developing, prioritizing, and coordinating project work plans; supporting the review and selection of proposed projects; ensuring project objectives are aligned with overall program goals; forecasting and managing internal project resources; monitoring project milestones, expenditures, and costs against project schedules Responsibilities and budgets; tracking projects and communicating status to key stakeholders; overseeing the management project documentation; and acting as focal contact for project requests. Assess strengths, needs and challenges of workplace wellness.
- Promotes and supports County policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application of program resources; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting program resources
- Collaborate with County Departments and health and wellness partner(s) in managing on-site wellness based programs
- Strong knowledge of managing health coach teams and wellness programming and event planning
- Build and maintain day-to-day working relationship with County departments (for example, Transit Department Bus Operations) in implementing effective support services
- Knowledge of FL state regulations, trends and successes pertaining to health and wellness
- Weekly, daily, and monthly data analysis to guide programming objectives
- Collaborate with on-site wellness coaches and employee engagement/recognition staff to provide effective programming
- Support Community Affairs efforts (MDCs Wellness Fairs) to increase employee and community engagement
- Facilitate progress meetings with Florida Department of Health-Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade members and other agency partner(s)
- Coordinate and assist in licensure of buildings (Permitting) and Vendor Management (Contracting) activities for wellness venues and vendor services (5k race company)
- Develop strategic planning for program expansion within the boundaries of the design intent
- Monitor program data (incentives, health risks, participation)
- Collaborate with internal/external partner(s) to ensure fidelity of the program
- Assist in planning and facilitation of orientation for new team members (Wellness Liaisons, DPRs, Health Coaches, Nutritionist)
- Actively participate in recruitment and retention process for workplace-based wellness warriors and department liaisons
- Coordinate progress meetings between Vendor partner(s) MDC’s leadership
- Assist and collaborate with HR leadership team on funding options
- Monitor funding sources and budgeting for effective programming with fiscal accountability and responsibility
- Manage distribution and collaboration of communications and marketing materials related to wellness programing to County employees and HR staff
- Solve problems creatively with ability to lead and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

- Preferences
- Professional experience as a program or project manager with comparable responsibilities to this role
- Ability to work in a collaborative, design focused open environment
- Ability to travel county-wide as the project(s) requires
- Familiarity of event planning and project management, 2 years of project management experience preferred
- WELCOA accreditation/certification preferred
- Knowledge of worksite wellness programs and services
- Self-motivated with a desire to do good work and improve current conditions and life outcomes for MDC employees, their families and the community
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Proven track record as a Project Manager with large, complex projects involving work that ranges from Program Administration, including contract negotiation, work plan development and the ability to work with a variety of project delivery methodologies
- Comfortable working, walking, talking and generally interacting with employees, staff, residents, business leaders, politicians and community representatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word and Excel
