Specialist, Wellness
Overview:
This position is responsible for the administration and creation of wellness programs and activities designed to improve employee health and well being. Will recommend change and/or additions to programs based on changing needs of employees. In addition to supervising, planning, and implementing Wellness activities, the Specialist is responsible for measuring the successes of each initiative. Duties require consistent exercise of discretion and judgment within established guidelines. Responsible for the budget, program development, marketing, and participation within the Wellness Program. Will manage employee LOA programs to include Personal LOA, Intermittent FMLA, and FMLA/STD events. Must stay abreast of legal compliance related to both Wellness, ADA, and FMLA.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive Wellness Program that will include a 3-year ongoing strategy
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures, as needed, for the Wellness and Leave of Absence programs
- Network with community businesses to bring health promotion programs and events to CITS
- Manage the approved expense budget of the Wellness Program, to include Wellness recognition program
- Produce, review and present financial and statistical reports needed to support new additions to the Wellness Program
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with organizations in the community in order to stay abreast of trends and achieve results with our wellness initiatives
- Develop an ROI for wellness strategy within three years of being launched
- Track and communicate leave of absence information to necessary departments. Maintain communication with the employee. Maintain appropriate databases with leave details
- Partner with Prudential to identify common reasons for Intermittent FMLA and the like, in order to implement a Wellness strategy to improve instances of FMLA
- Build rapport with our employees and a “safe place” where all employees feel comfortable discussing personal wellness goals
- Stay abreast of legalities as they related to FMLA, ADA and Wellness through continuing education and collaboration with the corporate benefits/legal department
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 2 – 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Work experience in health promotion, healthcare management, case/disease management a plus
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Must have strong working knowledge of recent version of MS Office
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential
- Must be able to successfully deliver presentations to a diverse audience
- Flexibility is a must
- Attendance is an essential function of the job
- Requires some travel
