Wellness Manager
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of integrated and comprehensive programs and initiatives to improve the health and well-being of San Ysidro Health employees. This position develops and facilitates communication and engagement strategies to increase awareness and participation in San Ysidro Health’s employee wellness initiatives. Wellness Manager responsibilities include budget adherence, hiring, training, and developing staff, relationship management, direct oversight of program operations, employee engagement, outcomes reporting, and continuous quality improvement. The Wellness Manager supports the San Ysidro Health Employee Wellness & Safety Committee and Provider Wellness Committees, and continuously fosters an organizational culture of employee health and wellness.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Leads the design and development of a strategic plan for employee health and workforce wellness programming.
- Develops and implements innovative programs and wellness policies to improve employee health and decrease burnout.
- Keeps current with workforce wellness trends and scientific literature; recognizes potential implications for the company and recommends new programs based on evidence.
- Leads and manages wellness initiatives/projects as they are developed in conjunction with wellness committees.
- Manages the planning, promotion, delivery and evaluation of wellness incentive and reward programs.
- Develops and manages annual calendar of events, training, education, and programs; oversees comprehensive communications plan to ensure employee engagement in calendar activities.
- Provides monthly metrics/reports on participation, activities, and results to date; develops dashboard and metrics for quarterly review by senior leadership; interprets results and provide recommended action plans.
- Oversees continuous quality improvement of program activities; interprets employee feedback to identify best practices and areas for improvement; analyzes statistical information from program results to identify trends and utilization. Provides health and wellness education and information and serve as resource to others.
- Conducts on-going trainings, webinars or events with sites and grant partnerships
- Provides direct supervision of staff.
- Serve as the program’s primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including program funders and collaborative partners; oversee all program reporting requirements, outcomes, and deliverables.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required in field/course of study that provides competency in health and wellness or equivalent experience.
Certifications/Licenses Preferred:
- Valid California driver’s license with access to reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance.
- Certified Wellness Program Manager.
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):
- At least 5 years of direct experience in wellness program management, including knowledge of wellness program models, trends, and best practices with an emphasis on implementation of program design and burnout prevention.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- At least 2 years of direct experience in staff supervision.
