Position Summary:

Utopia Spa and Global Wellness is seeking Virtual Global Dance Instructors, in Latin, African, and Indian Bollywood Dance to provide wellness on-demand and virtual sessions for/at our corporate and event clients. This is an independent contractor role. If you are personable, ethical, passionate about wellness, and meet the requirements listed below, you would make a great addition to our team!

Virtual Dance Instructor Responsibilities:

• Choreograph and lead dance classes in either Latin dance, African dance, or Indian Bollywood dance 

  • Latin Dance – includes but not limited to Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, Samba, and Latin-inspired Zumba 

  • African Dance – includes but not limited to Umteyo, Mohobelo, Kpanlogo, Adamu

  • Indian Bollywood Dance 

• Provide energizing and electrifying workouts that enable freedom and self-expression through movement

• Provide a great experience for students using our online teaching platform

• Connect with students during the dance classes through fun routines and song selection 

• Provide encouragement throughout the class to motivate students 

• Express your love of teaching and passion to help others grow in their dance journey

• Visually assess students to determine their level of practice

• Demonstrate correct practice and techniques to ensure the safety of clients 

• Transform energy during the warm-up, build-up, and cool-down stages

• Offer training recommendations to improve the practice of dance

Virtual Dance Instructor Requirements:

• Self-starter, self-directed; ability to proactively work independently as well as being a team player

• Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality

• Experience and background in the subject areas you wish to teach

• Ability to connect with students, personalize lessons, and keep students engaged and excited about learning online

• PayPal or Venmo account

• Email and text capability

• Zoom app understanding

• Movement related classes must be in an environment that looks like a wellness studio 

  • Simple aesthetic, simple wall, candles and plants, no furniture

• Strong wifi connection 

• Proper lighting (ring light, desk lamp, or professional video)

• Wireless earbuds

• Appropriate music (Must have – Commercial-Free Source: Pandora Plus or Spotify, Apple Music) – we have company approved playlist/stations
