Position Summary

• Assists with implementation of health management activities and programs for BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and/or BlueChoice HealthPlan members.
• May involve some travel.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in health administration, health promotion, exercise science, education/training or other health-related field.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in health administration, health promotion, exercise science, education/training or other health-related field.
• CHES certification.

Required Work Experience

• Three years of clinical experience in a defined specialty or facilitating large-scale health education and prevention programs, OR
• Four years of experience in health administration or other health-related field, OR
• Two years of experience with a master’s degree in health promotion, health administration or other health-related field.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
• Understanding of insurance and benefit programs as they relate to health management coverage.
• Knowledge of the quality improvement process.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively and make sound decisions.
• Good judgment.
• Demonstrated customer service, organizational and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Ability to persuade, negotiate with or influence others.
• Analytical or critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
• Microsoft Office skills.
