RN Supervisor/Wellness Coach

We have an opening for a RN Health Center Supervisor/Wellness Coach to work at our new employer health center located in Seattle, WA! 

This clinic will open around June 2017!

NOTE: This position has split RN Clinical and Supervisory Duties as well as Wellness Coaching

RN Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Typically oversees the management of a single, small site (<10 headcount)
  • Dual role combines clinical, professional expertise (i.e., LPN/LVN) and supervisory responsibilities
  • Fulfills the job expectations of a Clinician (Medical/Technical resource) dedicating an agreed upon percentage of time to clinical duties
  • Manages a limited number of employees – responsible for following appropriate processes for talent acquisition, staff development and performance management and provides input to the Director of Site Operations for the final staffing decisions. Responsible for interviewing, training and onboarding new colleagues
  • Manages daily operations, workflow, work schedules, timecard monitoring etc. to ensure efficient and effective health center performance
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and presents resolutions and recommendations to the Director of Site Operations
  • Makes recommendations regarding staffing model based on objective scheduling & volume analysis – presents to Director of Site Operations for approval
  • Understands and complies with all regulatory, procedural, policy and licensing requirements
  • Completes incident reports as needed and provides assistance to Medical Care and outcomes dept regarding investigations and the resolution of complaints
  • Communicates and coordinates corporate messages and ensures implementation of policies or procedures is followed
  • Coaches and provides feedback to staff on a regular basis
  • Manages internal budget, reviews expenses, purchases supplies, inventories equipment, medication etc.
  • Assists in the identification and use of local per diems to ensure appropriate staffing levels are met
  • Communicates regularly with staff, conducts meetings and shares information regularly
  • Works collaboratively with the Medical Leader at the site to manage internal site issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Wellness Coach Responsibilities:

  • Delivers one on one and/or group coaching sessions in the areas of weight, nutrition, exercise, stress, tobacco cessation, work/life balance and general health
  • May coordinate and conduct wellness programs in areas such as nutrition, stress management, weight management, smoking cessation, exercise and others
  • Coach effectively in-person and by phone
  • Collaborates with health center staff to coordinate and promote health and wellness programs
  • Works closely with third party health and wellness vendors
  • May assist the Director of Site Operations in assessing and maintaining reports, evaluating the coaching program(s) & conducting ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs
  • Represents the health center, as appropriate, in scheduled or ad hoc employer meetings regarding health and wellness events or strategic initiatives

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • 2 – 3 years management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
  •  Prior management experience
  • Excellent computer skills (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing etc.)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and work flow management skills
  • Either certified in an ICF-accredited coaching program or ability to complete Wellcoaches® certification by the end of the first year of employment
  • Experience working as a wellness coach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
  • Training skills a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience in health promotion or work site wellness and public speaking
