Senior Wellness Director – Strategy and Management


The Wellness Director – Strategy and Management will report directly to the Plus One Account Vice President. The primary responsibility of this role is to represent Plus One on-site at our client, oversee management of the Wellness Administration Team, and work cross-functionally with the client’s Wellness / Benefits leadership to provide feedback and assistance with implementing strategy. In addition, this role will oversee development of the client’s Wellness programming and communications strategy and execution, as well as lead delivery of keynote events. Additional duties include identifying and initiating additional business opportunities for both Plus One and the client.


  • Provide leadership and direct management to the Wellness Administration Team roles focused, programming administration, marketing and communications, regional engagement, and operations
  • Act as a single point of contact for client’s Wellness / Benefits leadership to foster a cross-functional approach that eliminates redundancies and adds value through the Wellness Administration Team functional areas under management
  • Develop the Americas programming and communications strategy aligned with the region’s Wellness / Benefits business plans
  • Establish the annual calendar of events and annual programming budget based on department goals and objectives, available population metrics, vendor recommendations, etc.
  • Ensure the appropriate execution of events and programs to budget and timelines through the use of business plans, event calendars, project plans, role descriptions and other project management tools
  • Develop measurement and evaluation strategy for programming including participant satisfaction, program impact, program value (e.g. effort/cost vs. impact) and program utilization
  • Act as liaison to community health organization to leverage programs and resources
  • Oversee the identification and completion of Wellness related awards
  • Oversee the maintenance and on-going enhancements to the Wellness web site in coordination with the Benefits and Wellness functional teams
  • Work with Benefits leadership to identify and establish integration opportunities between various on-site Wellness offerings and insurance/health plan offerings including promoting cross referrals, multi-disciplinary program development and strategy meetings
  • Support additional Benefits and Wellness projects as required


  • Bachelors degree, preferably in business management or health promotion
  • 5+ years of work experience, preferably in wellness programming and operations roles
  • Strong background in program and project management
  • Experience in a corporate worksite environment
  • Experience managing third parties
  • Experience, knowledge and interest in health, fitness and wellness-related fields (exercise science, health promotion, human resources / organizational behavior)
  • Experience designing and implementing wellness incentive programs
  • People management experience
