Using Tech to Keep Employees Safe

BY: Sara Martin, MS // Chief Operations Officer • WELCOA

As states begin plans to re-open in the wake of COVID-19, businesses are faced with daunting questions around employee safety, privacy, and what returning to ‘business as usual’ means. While many have been comparing this pandemic to others throughout history, this time is unique and unprecedented for many reasons. From advancements in science, to healthcare, to communication, to tech; there are many advantages to managing a public health crisis in 2020 that were not available one-hundred years ago.

Validic is a company dedicated to improving the quality of human life by building technology that makes personal data actionable, which means they know a thing or two about the digital wellness landscape. WELCOA is hosting a webcast discussion with Validic this month to share lessons learned and best practices for continuing to keep employees safe and healthy as they attempt to return to in-person operations.

Many employers with essential personnel in retail operations, healthcare, delivery, manufacturing, and more have needed to maintain operations during the peak of COVID-19. What is available to these employers to help them do the best possible job keeping employees safe while keeping their doors open? What has helped them most? And what can we learn from those that have been successful to build best-practices for when the time comes for all employees to return to work?

Along with diving into these types of questions during the webcast, we will also be covering:

  • What to know about the ADA and EEOC guidelines when monitoring employees for COVID-19
  • State and national guidance for re-opening or resuming in-person operations
  • Strategies employers can utilize to keep employees safe and healthy while transitioning back to the workforce
  • Methods for identifying employees who may have COVID-19 quickly, to reduce the spread and severity of the disease

As we all begin delving into next steps, it is important to keep everybody’s safety top of mind. Working together to share best practices, navigating policies and practices around those that wish to remain sheltered a while longer, and finding ways to leverage technology to keep us all connected are some great things to start with. Join in the conversation between WELCOA and Validic live Wednesday, May 13 at 2:00 pm CT. We are all a part of the solution, let’s do this together!
